Construction of Facilities at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and Northport VA Medical Center

These are the proposed projects and a brief scope: 1) Parking Garage - This is a design-build project. The approximately 200 space parking structure will accommodate 3 floors of vertical expansion, provide a pedestrian bridge to the third floor of the Medical Center and use durable materials that maintain a visual connection to the hospital exteriors. The garage will consist of two sloped ramps ("bays") with 5.5% slope and nominally flat end areas. All areas will accommodate two way traffic and perpendicular parking stalls. Handicapped accessible parking is located on the flat floor areas. Additional items provided include an attendant's booth, lift gates and manual sliding gate to facilitate after hours lock down. The project includes the requirement to lease temporary parking space and provide shuttle transportation from temporary parking area(s) to the Medical Center, to replace 168 parking spaces displaced during construction. Location - Albany Stratton VA Medical Center Albany, New York. 2) Renovate 6B for Dialysis - The first phase of the project consists of the safe and coordinated replacement of two air handlers on the 11th floor B-wing that serve four inpatient bed wards (7B, 8B, 9B, 10B) and extending new ductwork to include the 6th floor B-wing. The second phase of the project consists of the total demolition and renovate of the 6th floor B-wing for a new Chronic Dialysis unit. Location - Albany Stratton VA Medical Center Albany, New York. 3) Demolition of Buildings 1 & 2 - The work shall consist of performing all hazardous materials and waste management mitigation and the complete demolition of existing Building 1 and Building 2. (Approximately 130,000sf). Also, utility relocation and site restoration and grading will be required. Location - Northport VA Medical Center, Northport, NY. 4) Columbarium site development - Construct an approximately 4000 niche columbarium which will include an entrance with timer controlled automatic gate system, public restrooms, maintenance storage room, a Secure IT/Phone Room, an HVAC/Electric Room, Electronic Gravesite Locator Kiosk, Camera Surveillance DVR System, One Committal Service Shelter, Roadway System and Parking, Irrigation System for all feature areas, grading, drainage, landscaping/planting and ornamental fencing system around the site for appearance and security and utility distribution systems. Location - St Albans (Queens), New York.
