Description

The Edgemont Well is an existing well located at 3598 North 290 East in Provo, Utah. It was drilled in 1965 to a total depth of 535 feet with 20-inch casing from 332 feet and 16-inch casing to 535 feet. The casing was perforated with a Mills knife from 230-305 feet and from 450-515 feet. The pump was set at 220 feet below ground surface. The static water level has averaged about 160 feet. It has been some time since the Edgemont Well Pump was pulled and evaluated. In the summer of 2020, it is suspected that the ground water level dropped below the pump bowels during pumping and the pump shut down. If possible, the City would like to lower the pump enough to keep it submerged during pumping. The alignment and condition of the well casing will affect how feasible this is. Work that can only be ascertained once the well is pulled and the borehole videoed, is not included in the bid schedule. Scope and payment for this work will be negotiated as the need arises.
