Description | A contractor's license is not required because the type of work being performed is considered provision of a service rather than installation, repair or replacement of equipment per the Contractors State License Board. Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Compliance A. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 B. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. C. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The purpose of the meeting is to review and clarify project requirements, respond to questions from the bidders and allow prospective bidders the opportunity to observe the condition and location of the digester, which may affect performance and pricing. It is the responsibility of prospective bidders to familiarize themselves with all requirements of the solicitation and identify any issues at this meeting. Bid bond/deposit not less than ten (10) percent of the aggregate total bid is required to be submitted with the sealed bid. Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and Payment Bond per Appendix G and Appendix H respectively. Bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to Part 7, Chapter 1, Article 2, Section 1770, et seq., of the Labor Code of the State of California, the successful CONTRACTOR and its subcontractors shall pay their labor forces not less than the general prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, and travel and subsistence pay as such are defined in applicable collective bargaining agreements filed in accordance with Section 1773.8 of said Labor Code, for work needed and performed on this project. It shall, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773.2 of said Labor Code, be a requirement of the work for the successful bidding contractor to post and maintain a copy of said wages' determinations at the project site throughout the duration of the work. Regional San hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, political affiliations of beliefs, sex, age, physical handicap, medical condition, marital status or pregnancy as set forth hereunder.
