Description | The City of Newburyport, Massachusetts (herein "The City") is seeking proposals from qualified vendors ("Proposers" or "Contractors") for weekly and bi-weekly collection, transportation, disposal, recycling and composting services for curbside refuse, single stream recycling, organics (food waste) and other described services for most residential properties in Newburyport, as defined in Attachment B, with service anticipated to commence on July 1, 2024. All submissions, to be considered, must be prepared in accordance with the requirements specified in this Request for Proposals package. he office is open Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Any submission received after this time and date will not be considered and will be returned to the Respondent unopened. The clock in the Business Office shall represent the official time for purposes of this determination and all submissions shall be delivered to the Water/Sewer Business Office by the above stated date and time. A 5% BID BOND must accompany each proposal and must be in the form of a money order, certified check or a cashier's check, drawn on any bank authorized to do business in the State of Massachusetts or a bid bond, properly executed by the Bidder and by a qualified surety. Upon award, the Selected Proposers will enter into an Agreement with the City and furnish the required Performance Bond within the timeframe set forth in the RFP documents. If a Selected Proposer fails to do so, the Bid Bond shall be retained by the City as liquidated damages and not as penalty. |
