Description

Qualified firms to assist staff in the creation of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Plan for the North College Avenue Corridor from the Downtown Transit Center to Terry Lake Road (HWY 1). The successful Professional or team will be motivated to work with staff, citizens, and elected officials on a multi-disciplinary planning effort and will have expertise in the following areas: • Transit service planning • Multi-modal transportation planning and operational analysis • Station area planning • Transit oriented development and economic development • Sustainability assessments (e.g., environmental, economic, social) • Transportation funding and federal grant processes • Equity and equitable public participation and communication • Graphics and illustration Purpose The North College corridor is an opportunity to extend the existing Transfort MAX BRT route another two miles north from the Downtown Transit Center. Presently the study area consists of primarily low-density residential, social service agencies, and industrial land uses, and is served by Transfort routes 8 & 81. However, the area is growing rapidly with 25% population growth between 2010 and 2018, and routes 8 & 81 are Transfort’s fastest growing ridership with a 10% increase between 2017 and 2018.
