Description

Existing Visitor Control Center (VCC) is located by 6th Ave Gate. Phased reconfiguration of 6th Ave Gate to bring it to compliance with the Anti-Terrorism regulations requires the VCC to be relocated south of Mississippi Gate to Bldg. 1553 formerly the Large Vehicle Inspection Point (LVIP) and now a storage warehouse. The functional objective of the site design is to streamline the process of obtaining base access to Buckley AFB while incorporating the force protection criteria. The new VCC building and site design will provide security and force protection features while meeting appropriate architectural character as this will be the first building visitor’s experience. 11.2 A previous design for the renovation of the VCC was complete to 60% to include design drawings, specifications, and design analysis. The contractor will be required to progress these design documents from their current state to a full 100%, Issue for Construction design submission and then renovate and or construct the design as presented through the design documents.
