2018 Roadway Paving and Reconstruction Project - Phase III

The project generally consists of concrete, roadway paving / reconstruction and utility improvements, where applicable; to Tower Lane, Hillside Avenue, Keegan Place, Ida Street, Thomas Street and Harkins Street located within the Borough of Sayreville. The work involved with these improvements includes the maintenance and protection of traffic; cutting and removal of existing trees, installation of new street trees; repair and reconstruction of existing storm sewer inlet / manhole structures; resetting of existing inlet / manhole castings, installation of 6" diameter PPT underdrain and 12" RCP storm sewer pipe reaches; construction of various types of new storm sewer inlet structures, extending existing roof leader drains to new curb; installation of approximately 600 lineal feet +/- of 8" diameter cement lined DIP Class 52 water main with wet tap connection to existing water line; installation of new gate valve and fire hydrant assembly; furnishing and installation of approximately 10 +/- new water services / curb boxes including connections to existing water services and new water line; abandonment of existing water mains, valves and services; removal and replacement of approximately 70 +/- of existing water service curb boxes; removal and replacement of existing gate valve and fire hydrants including connections to existing pipes, fittings and all appurtenances; installation of concrete encasement around existing utility, removal and replacement of existing deteriorated sanitary sewer manhole castings, resetting of existing sanitary sewer manhole castings; removal of approximately 6,200 lineal feet +/- of various types of existing concrete curbs; removal of approximately 14,500 square feet +/- of various types of concrete sidewalks, driveways and/or aprons; construction of approximately 9,500 lineal feet +/- of new standard Borough concrete curb, approximately 9,700 square feet +/- of new standard Borough concrete sidewalk and approximately 5,000 square feet +/- of new standard Borough reinforced concrete driveways and aprons; furnishing and installation of cast-in-place handicapped sidewalk ramp delineation; restoration of hot mix asphalt driveways / parking areas; restoration of existing stone driveways / parking areas; roadway milling of approximately 4,500 square yards +/- of existing asphalt pavement and cutting / removal of approximately 13,000 square yards +/- of existing asphalt pavement; the installation of dense graded aggregate base course, if and where ordered; furnishing and installation of County roadway asphalt / concrete trench repair; installation of approximately 4,600 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt base course material, resurfacing the entire roadways with approximately 1,800 tons +/- of hot mix asphalt surface course material; application of pavement stripes / markings (lines and symbols); furnishing and installation of topsoil / sod; and all other preparation, restoration.
