Description | Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Berkeley, sealed bids for a lump-sum contract are invited for the following work: Seismic Monitoring Container Vault Replacement Installation of two (2) Owner furnished precast concrete vaults, each in remote areas of Alder Spring, CA and Hopland, CA. Vault installation to include waterproofing application, exterior door, electrical work, and concrete wing walls. Must offload precast vaults from delivery trucks using cranes. Excavation, shoring, and grading needed at one location. Vault at Hopland has already been excavated and disposed of. Contractor responsible to remove existing containers, concrete, and other material used to construct existing site. The base scope of work is for the installation of two (2) stations per Scope of Work in Division 1. A minimum of two (2) sites vaults and up to seven (7) vaults total are anticipated in various locations throughout California. Additional sites will be added to the contract per the unit prices provided by the contractor and the contract time will be adjusted accordingly - with the exception of the Vault Replacement at Alder Springs. Vault Replacement at Alder Springs to be completed by August 14, 2023, in accordance with Specification Section 01030, Project Phasing, and the Contract Documents. To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractors Special Statement of Experience. This Contractors Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractors letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractors Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable projects with a construction value of $130,000 or greater, completed in the past five (5) years that demonstrate the bidders ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. b. All submitted projects must be within the state of California. 2. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address, (c) owners name, (d) contract value at award, (e) total Change Order value, (f) completion date, (g) Owners Representative email address and current phone number and (h) brief scope. 3. All projects on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) within the last 5 years. Once registered, Respondent needs to email Contract Administration at contractadmin-cp@berkeley.edu for access to a specific project. Original Bid Bond must be RECEIVED within 48 hours of Bid Deadline at: CAPITAL PROJECTS, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, 1936 University Avenue, Suite 222, Berkeley, CA 94704. Prospective bidders arriving late after the published start time, will not be allowed to participate in the Virtual Pre-Bid Job Walk. Only bidders who participate in the Pre-Bid Meeting will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractors license at the time of submission of the Bid: A - General Engineering Contractor Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. |
