Description | SCOPE OF WORK Remodel existing 1st floor EOC (Emergency Operations Center) storage space at UNC EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Building. A partition will be added to the space (to top of structure) to separate the storage space from the new office suite. The non-suite side of the wall will remain unfinished, but electrical and HVAC provisions will be made to that space. A new 4'-wide double door will be added to the corridor for access to this space. Work to the suite-side of the wall includes an office buildout and provisions for modular workstations. Millwork with solid surface countertop will be added to the space. An opening will be cut into the existing exterior wall for the placement of the new window. It is unknown if a header exists for this window. A structural detail has been included if structural modifications are required for window installation. Brick will need to be removed and reinstalled. The decorative horizontal fins at the existing windows are not part of the project scope for the new window. The door and frame into this space will be removed; replace with a similar door (opposite-hand swing.) Gypsum wall will be removed at the existing exterior wall. Upon removal, notify Project Manager of areas that are damaged or need to be remedied prior to replacement of gypsum board. Install 95-inch Owner provided monitor at suite-side partition wall. Coordinate location and blocking with Architect. Finishes in this space are indicated on drawings. An existing storage closet will be converted into a kitchenette area including cabinets, solid surface countertop, sink, ice maker, refrigerator. Walls, ceiling and floors in this area will match the adjacent hallway. Doors and frame will be removed; the opening will be finished with gypsum board, paint and rubber base. Alternates have been included for Owner consideration. |
