At the end of each paving job, the contractor is required to pick up all discarded material from the side of the roadway. Hopkins County Public Works reserves the right to require bidder to perform prep work on roads as needed. This will be bid on a case-by-case basis as needed. Bituminous Hot-Mix Plant and Equipment The bituminous mixing plant shall be in reasonable close conformity to the requirements of Section 401. The County will permit a dryer drum mixing plant to be used as an alternate provided the requirements outlined in Section 401.02.05 are met. Surge/Storage Systems, when used, shall meet the requirements of Sub-Section 401.03.02 D Bituminous Hot-Mix: This item shall be plant-mixed bituminous concrete mixture consisting of asphalt cement and well-graded aggregate, conforming to the requirements stated herein. This item shall be specified asfollows: Category I: Bituminous Concrete Base or Binder Category 11: Bituminous Concrete Surface wherein the 40% natural sand is NOT required Category Ill: Rubber Modified Asphalt Hopkins County Fiscal Court reserves the right to extend the contract price for an additional year, by mutual agreement of both parties. Hopkins County Fiscal Court reserves the right towaive any informality, to accept the lowest or best bid, or to accept all bids and use the most economical bid for the county for each project. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Local resident bidders may be eligible for a Kentucky resident bidders preference pursuant to KRS 45A
