Description | As of March 13, 2023, the project has been awarded. Construction is expected to commence May 31, 2023. The Kent County Purchasing Division, on behalf of Cedar Springs is soliciting bids for a sidewalk rehabilitation and replacement program in the City of Cedar Springs on 5th Street from Muskegon St. to Pine St. and a section on 7th St. The Awarded entity will be required to obtain permits for this project. This award will be funded by Kent County's Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG"). All Tree cutting/clearing must be completed by March 31, 2023. 56 days to complete construction once work begins (does not include days needed for tree cutting/clearing). Construction must be substantially completed by May 31, 2023. The approximate quantities of the major items of Work are: 660 SYD Remove Concrete Sidewalk and Driveway 26,800 SFT 4" and 6" Concrete Sidewalk and Driveway 5,200 LF Lawn Restoration 65 TON HMA - Hand Patch and Driveways Dimensions, if furnished, are for general reference only and should be verified by Respondents.. Inquiries Deadline Date & Time (local) 1/6/2023, 2 PM No Bid Bond is required if a bid is less than $500,000. Each bid over $500,000 must be accompanied by a Bid Bond executed by the Respondent and payable to County of Kent for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds or Payment Bonds and Performance Bonds must file a certified effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney. A certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, or negotiable U.S. Government bond (at par value) may be submitted In lieu of a Bid Bond. Personal checks are NOT acceptable. The Bid Bonds of the unsuccessful Respondents will be returned after the Solicitation is awarded. The Bid Bond of the successful Respondent will be retained until the contract is fully executed by all parties involved. Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract. *Information regarding subcontractor bidding has not been disclosed to the content management team at this time.
