This intersection improvement project will enhance safety along this critical corridor by realignjgg the intersection of US 29.at Herring Road with Madras Parkway and providing a grade-separated crossing over the CSX Railroad to relieve congestion in the Madras community in northern Coweta County. Safety enhancements will also be provided through improved access for fire and EMS responders from the new Fire Station #6 located at the proposed realigned intersection at US 29. The US 29 at Herring Road intersection improvement project 1s part of an overall long range corridor level project known as the Madras Connector, which will provide east-west connectivity between US 29, 1-85 via the proposed Amlajack Interchange, and SR 34 East.
