Description | The proposed project will improve the existing low water crossing at Cotton Gin Road over Porter Creek, replacing the existing two 36-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe with five 10-foot x 5-foot boxes. The project includes new safety guard rails and streambank stabilization. The project includes new safety guard rails and streambank stabilization. The existing roadway width of approximately 24-feet will be widened to a minimum of 25-feet and will improve approximately 310 feet of roadway. The project also includes approximately 200 linear feet of guard rail installation along the pavement edge for traffic protection. Drainage improvements include new culvert and slope protection. Upon completion of the project all disturbed areas shall be revegetated. The improvements will significantly reduce overtopping of the road and lower the flooding elevation upstream of the crossing. |
