Description

Bid Security. All bids must be accompanied by a bidders bond, certified check, bank cashiers check or bank draft payable to the Village of East Troy for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid as provided in the contract. Rejection of Bids. The 52' long pier is 6' wide with 2 10'x10' sections to form a tee configuration. The previous pier has already been removed The Village Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the bids are rejected for good cause, award of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. 1. Construct and install 52 feet of (6 feet wide) permanent pier. 2. 2-10-foot x10 foot sections attached to the main pier to form a tee configuration (see exhibit). 3. Welded galvanized coated steel frame (2-inch x 4-inch x 1/8-inch minimum) main perimeter supports. The cross supports can be 1-1/2-inch x 3-inch x 1/8-inch. The exterior of the perimeter of the frame shall be wrapped with a 2-inch x 6-inch synthetic board (color to match decking). 4. Synthetic decking material (owner to choose color). 5. 16-3-1/2-inch diameter (minimum) schedule 40 galvanized posts driven to a minimum depth of 21 feet. 6. The perimeter of the pier shall have an aluminum railing (42-inch height) constructed to include galvanized mesh (4-inch x 4-inch maximum) between the 3-inch x 3-inch posts (see exhibit) with a synthetic fishing top shelf constructed of 2-inch x 8-inch synthetic material (color to match decking). At four locations (to be selected by owner) the railing height shall be modified to allow for individuals with disabilities fishing access(see exhibit). 7. 2-10-foot aluminum off pier benches constructed. This will include synthetic material for the bench seat and backrest (color to match decking). 8. All fasteners shall be stainless steel.
