Description | The following major activities are involved: • Clean Water Act Section 404 and 402 regulations • National Environmental Policy Act regulations • Endangered Species Act regulations • Surface Mining Control, Reclamation and Enforcement Act regulations • Transportation-related engineering for highways, bridges, tunnels, railroads, and airports including needs assessments and economic analysis • Water supply management and reservoir siting, design, needs assessment, efficiency alternatives, and overall alternatives analysis • Oil and Gas exploration, drilling, and reclamation • Hardrock mining siting, design, operation and reclamation including effluent, storm water and spoil management and water balance analysis • Coal mine siting, design, operation and reclamation including storm water, effluent and spoil management such as acid-, alkaline-, and selenium-producing materials handling, and excess spoil disposal configuration alternatives • Residential / resort development including economic analysis and storm water management • Hydrologic analysis of surface and groundwater flow paths and rates • Stream and Wetland function and condition assessments and data analysis • Assessment of unique aquatic resource type(s) (e.g., vernal pools, snow melt driven streams, stream wetland complexes, non-perennial streams) • Wetland and stream compensatory mitigation project and policy review • Compensatory mitigation assessment methods and training on review and assessment mitigation approaches (for example the Natural Channel Design Review Methodology) • Watershed analysis for: development of a complete alternatives analysis, the evaluation of secondary and cumulative effects, and site selection for compensatory mitigation • Development and delivery of trainings • GIS data development, management, and analysis • Statistical methods, particularly for the analysis of ecological data (e.g., hydrological, biological, etc.), including multivariate and non-parametric statistical methods |
