Description | Several engineering firms that are familiar with geothermal systems to submit an RFS to design the replacement of HVAC equipment beyond the central geothermal heat pump system. The System DESIGN should include the following items based upon a Life Cycle Analysis performed on April 21, 2017 by Garcia, Galuska & DeSousa (GGD). 1. 100% outside air hot water coil heating/chilled water coil dehumidification air handling units with energy recovery wheels providing tempered ventilation to the classroom areas. 2. Variable air volume boxes with demand ventilation control and temperature sensor to modulate airflow based on occupancy and space heating/cooling demand for all occupied areas. 3. Overhead fiberglass insulated supply air ductwork distribution systems connecting to ceiling mounted diffusers and fully ducted return air ductwork systems. 4. Chilled/hot water radiant cooling/heating along exterior walls. 5. 100% outside air variable air volume hot water coil heating/chilled water coil cooling air handling units with energy recovery wheels providing displacement ventilation to the classroom areas. 6. Multiple four-pipe two coil heating and cooling induction units serving the administration and library areas. 7. Variable air volume boxes with demand ventilation control and temperature sensor to modulate airflow based on occupancy and space heating/cooling demand for all occupied areas. 8. Primary air ducted directly to induction units 9. 100% outside air hot water coil heating/chilled water coil cooling air handling units with energy recovery wheels providing ventilation to the induction units of the administration and media center areas 10. Variable air volume hot water coil heating/chilled water coil cooling air handling units with energy recovery wheels and demand control ventilation providing mixed-air overhead ventilation serving the cafetorium and gym areas. 11. Make-up air handling unit and variable air volume exhaust air fan system serving the kitchen. 12. Limited use of hot water radiation and unit heaters. 13. Water-to-water titanium heat exchangers. 14. Four-pipe heating/cooling piping system serving all air handling units, chilled/hot water radiant panels, and induction units. 15. Two-pipe hot water distribution system serving radiant heating panels and unit heaters 16. Direct digital controls throughout (Proprietary system – Johnson Controls) |
