Description | This work consists primarily of the removal of existing pavement surfaces and the placement of asphalt overlay at various locations as shown on the plans. The work shall include all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the proper execution and completion of the work as shown in the plans and as specified. It shall also include all work not specifically mentioned but which is reasonably and properly inferable and necessary for the completion of the work. Maps provided are to be used as a guide. Work to be performed on the City Streets will be marked with white or pink paint by a representative from the City. The paint marks and/or directives given by the Engineer will supersede information provided on maps contained in this contract. Pavement marking plans will be provided by the City as the project progresses. DEADLINE FOR QUESTIONS: January 4, 2023 A pre-bid meeting/site visit will not be held for this solicitation. It is highly suggested that interested parties understand the requirements of the solicitation before submitting a response. The City of Bloomington reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities. The City of Bloomington requires all Bidders /Consultants doing business with the City not to discriminate on the basis of race, age, color, religion, gender, ancestry, national origin, marital status, mental or physical disability unrelated to ability, familial status or sexual orientation. This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number SLFRP0597 awarded to City of Bloomington by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Bid must be accompanied by a Bid guaranty which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the Bid. Bid guaranty may be a cashier's check, money order, certified bank check, or a surety bond. All guaranties, except surety bonds, will be deposited and reimbursement checks and surety bonds will be issued to unsuccessful bidders following the bid award. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price, within ten (10) business days after the bid award. Contractors shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12) including Public Act 100-1177 effective June 1, 2019. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the bid opening date. |
