Description | This sale is a 4th row operator select thinning of 247 acres of planted slash pine with a marked to cut 28 acre slash pine area on the Rima Ridge tract of the Tiger Bay State Forest, in Volusia County, Florida. The timber to be removed from the operator select area includes every 4th row for access and select trees in the leave rows. Trees to be removed from the leave rows include trees that are of poor form, diseased, and suppressed trees as well as a portion of the intermediate and co-dominate trees to leave 60 - 70 square feet of basal area per acre. Timber available for harvest in the marked sale area included all timber marked in blue paint. Unmarked timber is not to be harvested or damaged. Sale boundaries include roads, firelines, wetlands and flagged lines. The estimated volume to be removed is 3,984 tons of pulpwood and better. |
